Ideas for Brief 2 "Something Old"

As we were advised in class to select something which we found lying around our houses in order to get something old to shoot I decided to use my dads old cobblers shoe. I thought that this would be an interesting item to shoot as it has various textures which would give my photo an overall rustic look. I also felt positive that I would be able to create an effective background which would blend with the theme. This being said I decided to have a wooden background and add a piece of leather to the image, with a piece of suede rag also lying at the side to make it appear as a work place.

My Plan

  • To place the cobblers shoe in the centre of the image so it is the main focal point
  • Having a wooden background to add a rustic theme and make it appear like a work place
  • To add extras to create more of a scene such as a rag and plyers
Equipment List

  • Nikon D800
  • Shoe Cobbler
  • Rag
  • Plyers
  • Wooden board
  • Table
  • Tripod
  • Two lights, barn doors and softbox attachment.
  • 50mm lens
